Weight Loss Without Pills

Why do so many people try all varieties of pills to lose weight? Because they promise quick weight loss with little change in your actual eating habits. But that isn’t realistic, and there is no pill that will help everyone lose weight.

People tend to expect miracles from diet pills, and this is probably due to the way they are presented in ads. You need to be realistic about the performance you can expect from any medication, whether it’s a prescription or an over the counter drug.

Some diet pill pushers may be worse than others when you watch their ads, but honest ads give you some idea of how pills actually perform. If you watch diet ads on TV, there will almost always be a statement in small print near the bottom of the screen: “Results not typical”. That means that while the people in the ad lost 60 pounds or whatever, you probably will not.

There are some medications that will help you to lose weight, but they need to be used along with a healthy diet and an exercise program. Reputable pharmaceutical companies will be more up-front about the weight you can be expected to lose. Many physicians recommend losing no more than one to two pounds per week, to stay healthy while you are dieting.

The best way to lose weight is still eating a sensible diet and exercising regularly. Some dietary supplements can be helpful in losing excess weight, while others may not be as worthwhile. Even diet pills that do work will generally only increase the ability your body already has, to burn calories and fat. But you have to help the process by assisting the product, which is why exercise is so important when you are trying to lose weight.

If you are able to lose weight simply by a healthy diet and a proper exercise plan, you will understand the fulfilling goal of weight loss without pills. This will probably be due in no small part to your body’s innate metabolism, as well as to your persistence. What pills cannot accomplish, you can accomplish yourself.

Learn what types of foods are beneficial to your body, the foods that provide nutrients and vitamins, without adding fat content. You have probably heard it from your physician and maybe a trainer, and certainly from most people you ask about weight loss. Eat lots of fruit and vegetables, eat more and smaller meals, and get sensible exercise. This is the way to lose weight in a safe and healthy manner.
